Your Service, Explained

PPF’s Self-Healing Technology

One of the coolest features of Paint Protection Film? Its ability to heal itself. Here’s a quick breakdown of how that works.

Heat-Activated Surface

PPF is made with a special top layer that reacts to heat. When the film gets scratched, heat from the sun or warm water helps the surface bounce back and smooth itself out. This means minor marks and swirls disappear on their own.

Flexible and Elastic Material

The film is stretchy and flexible, which helps it return to its original shape after light damage. This elasticity is what allows the film to "heal" instead of cracking or tearing.

No Extra Work for You

You don’t need to do anything special to make the self-healing work. Just regular driving or parking in the sun is usually enough to take care of small scratches. It's built-in protection that works all on its own.

Aftercare Advice

How to Get the Most From Your PPF

Taking care of your paint protection film after installation helps keep it working right and looking great. Follow these simple tips to get the most out of your PPF.

Wait Before Washing

After installation, give your film time to settle. Don’t wash your vehicle for at least 48 hours. This allows the film’s adhesive to fully cure and prevents lifting or peeling. If you notice any bubbles, don’t worry. Most will go away on their own as the film finishes bonding to your paint.

Stick to Hand Washing

Hand washing is the best way to clean a vehicle with PPF. Use a soft wash mitt, pH-neutral soap, and clean water. Avoid automatic car washes, especially with spinning brushes. They can scratch or lift the film over time. Always dry the car with a soft microfiber towel to avoid streaks and swirls.

Skip Harsh Chemicals

Stay away from strong cleaners, solvents, and degreasers. These can break down the film or dull the finish. If something stubborn like tar or sap gets on the film, use a cleaner made for PPF or ask us what we recommend. Gentle products go a long way.

Don’t Wax or Coat Right Away

If you plan to wax or ceramic coat your film, wait at least 30 days. This gives the film time to cure completely. After that, use only waxes or coatings that are safe for PPF. Not sure which ones are safe? We’re happy to guide you.

Watch for Damage

PPF is tough, but it’s not bulletproof. If you notice a deep scratch or a tear in the film, get it checked out. It’s better to fix a small spot than wait until it gets worse. Most minor marks will heal on their own with a little heat, but we’re here if you need us.

Tint Palace FAQs

Answering Top PPF Questions

  • Q: What is paint protection film, and what does it do?

A: Paint protection film is a tough, clear film we apply over your vehicle’s paint. It acts like a shield, blocking out road debris, bug splatter, rock chips, and harsh weather. It helps your car stay looking new by taking the hits so your paint doesn’t have to. It also resists stains and UV damage, so your paint won’t fade or discolor over time. If you care about keeping your ride clean and sharp, PPF is a smart investment.

  • Q: How long does PPF last?

A: The premium films we install are made to last. When taken care of properly, you can expect them to hold up for several years or longer. That means your paint stays protected long-term. The film won’t yellow, bubble, or crack if it’s installed right, and we take pride in doing it right the first time. It’s made to handle daily driving, heat, and everything the New Mexico roads can throw at it.

  • Q: Can I wash my car after getting PPF?

A: Yes, but give it at least 48 hours before you do. That gives the film time to settle and stick properly. After that, you can go back to regular washes, but we always recommend hand washing to avoid scratches. Stay away from automatic car washes with brushes and skip the harsh chemicals. If you treat the film right, it’ll keep protecting your paint for years to come.

  • Q: Will you be able to see the film on my car?

A: Nope. Once it’s installed, the film is nearly invisible. It’s crystal clear and laid down smoothly, so it blends in with your paint. The only way most people even know it’s there is because the car still looks brand new. You get all the protection without changing the look of your ride.

  • Q: Is it worth putting PPF on the whole car?

A: Worth it? If you’re the kind of driver who notices every scratch, absolutely. Full coverage PPF is for people who want their car to look top-tier, no matter how many miles roll by. It covers everything, so nothing’s left to chance.
